The Fundamentals of Matter and Its States

Have you ever wondered what everything around us is made of, and why things behave the way they do? This course introduces you to the essential building blocks of the physical world. By completing this course, you will develop a clear understanding of matter, its fundamental properties, and how it changes forms. You'll be able to explain everyday observations about solids, liquids, and gases using scientific principles. What you'll learn: * Understand the definition and fundamental properties of matter. * Differentiate the characteristics and behaviors of solids, liquids, and gases. * Learn about the particle theory of matter and its role in explaining states and transitions. * Analyze the processes of phase changes, such as melting, boiling, and sublimation, and the energy involved. * Explore additional states of matter, including plasma, and their real-world occurrences. * Apply principles of matter conservation and interaction with surroundings to everyday phenomena. This course begins with key terminology and basic concepts, then progresses through the observable properties of different states, the underlying particle theory, and the energy considerations during phase changes. You'll also touch upon more exotic states of matter and their relevance. This course is designed for absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of chemistry or physics. All explanations are provided in clear, accessible language, focusing on core concepts. Begin your journey to understand the fundamental nature of the physical world.
