As a complete beginner I was nervous about learning something this traditional on my own. But it starts with the basics of stance and centerline before you ever touch the dummy, so by the time you do it feels natural.

The daily practice routines are what make this stick. Instead of an overwhelming amount of theory, you get short focused drills you can actually repeat, and they build on each other nicely.
A genuinely good foundation for solo training and the routines are easy to follow. My only real caveat is that the later sections get quite advanced quite fast, so I found myself rereading a few parts several times.
I've wanted to learn Wing Chun for years but never had anyone to practice with, and training on the dummy from these routines finally got me moving.
The way it breaks down the sections of the dummy form one at a time made the whole thing far less intimidating.
I built a small home practice around this and it's been brilliant. The explanations of arm positioning and how to keep your structure against the dummy are really clear. I finally feel like I'm training with purpose instead of just copying moves.
Really useful for structure and positioning, though a few of the hand techniques would be easier to grasp with a short video.
I honestly didn't expect a written guide to work this well for something so physical. It walks you through each part of the dummy form slowly, explaining the purpose behind every hand and foot position rather than just telling you to copy it. Being able to read a step, try it on the dummy, then go back and re-read has been perfect for training at my own pace. My positioning and flow have come a long way and I feel like I actually understand the principles now, not just the shapes.
Good guide, but you really need a dummy.
Great for training without a partner.
What I liked most is that it treats the dummy as a tool for correcting your own form. It's not just a list of techniques, it explains why your elbow or wrist goes where it does. That made a huge difference to how I train.
I trained at a Wing Chun school years ago but had to stop, and getting back into it alone always felt impossible without the dummy work. This guide lays out the movements section by section, explaining the positioning of your arms and feet at each stage. Because it's all written I could keep it open next to my dummy and check my structure step by step. A couple of months in and my technique feels sharper and far more consistent than it ever did in class.
Clear breakdown of each movement.
This is a thorough and well-organized introduction to dummy training. The written routines are easy to keep beside you while you practice, and the focus on structure and centerline theory is exactly what a beginner needs. The one thing I'd change is that some of the trickier transitions between techniques are hard to picture from text alone, and I occasionally wasn't sure I had the movement right. Even so, it's given me a solid, repeatable routine I use most days.
My stance and footwork have improved a lot, though I'd have liked a bit more guidance on the correct striking angles.
My centerline finally makes sense.
