You will work through written reflections and planning exercises that examine your current practice, your interests, and the studio and community routines that sustain sculptors over years. The course respects that sculpture happens inside real lives with real limits. What you'll learn: - Build studio space that supports your chosen materials including storage, workspace, and safety - Develop subject focus that allows for sustained exploration rather than scattered single works - Plan series of works that deepen investigation across multiple pieces - Engage with the broader sculpture community through groups, exhibitions, and online presence - Recognize how personal voice emerges from consistent work and material literacy - Plan long-horizon goals across exhibition, commissions, teaching, or simply sustained personal practice The course begins with studio space, moves through subject and series, personal voice, community, and finishes with long-horizon planning. A capstone written exercise asks you to draft a one-year practice plan grounded in your real life and current work.
