What you'll learn: - Sustain ongoing planning including document updates, financial reviews, and care plan adjustments - Coordinate family members including primary caregivers, distant family, and professional support - Adapt to evolving care needs including cognitive changes and increasing physical assistance - Manage end-of-life decisions including hospice, palliative care, and family communication - Address grief and family dynamics through the elder care journey - Reflect on the longer-term role of elder care in family meaning and intergenerational relationships The course begins with sustained planning, moves through family coordination, adapting to evolving needs, end-of-life decisions, grief and family dynamics, and finishes with long-horizon reflection. A capstone written exercise asks you to draft a multi-year family elder care approach. This course is designed for families navigating long-term elder care. It is approachable for committed beginners willing to do the foundational work first.
