Applied Pediatric Therapy: Complex Cases, School-Based Services, and Transitions

Complex pediatric therapy cases involve coordination across school, medical, and family systems. This applied course teaches integrated reasoning through case-based modules. By the end of this course you will be able to support children with complex needs across systems, work effectively in school-based services, plan transitions across life stages, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. What you will learn: - Approaches to children with complex medical and developmental needs - The structure of school-based services including IEPs and 504 plans where relevant - Approaches to early intervention systems and transition to school-age services - Approaches to adolescent transition planning and skill building for adulthood - Approaches to working with assistive technology in pediatric contexts - Approaches to caregiver support and sibling considerations - Outcome measurement frameworks for pediatric therapy The course is structured around case-based applied modules. Each module presents a complex scenario, walks through structured reasoning, and produces a written plan you compare against the worked-through example. This course is written for pediatric therapists deepening practice. It does not replace supervised clinical training or specialty certification. By the end you will have structured frameworks for the complex, cross-system work of pediatric therapy.
