Applied Pediatric Vision Care: Complex Strabismus, Special Populations, and Surgical Co-Management

Complex pediatric vision cases require integrated reasoning across strabismus, refractive, and amblyogenic considerations alongside coordination with surgical services. This applied course teaches that integration through case-based modules. By the end of this course you will be able to reason through complex strabismus cases, support special pediatric populations, coordinate strabismus surgery co-management, and integrate pediatric vision care with school and developmental services. What you will learn: - Approaches to complex strabismus including incomitant and pattern strabismus - Approaches to pediatric refractive surgery candidates conceptually - Approaches to children with neurodevelopmental conditions and vision needs - Approaches to pre- and postoperative strabismus care - Approaches to vision therapy decision making within scope - Approaches to school coordination and educational vision needs - Continuous improvement frameworks for pediatric vision services The course is structured around case-based applied modules. Each module presents a complex scenario, walks through structured reasoning, and produces a written approach you compare against the worked-through example. This course is written for clinicians deepening pediatric vision practice. It does not replace supervised clinical training or specialty mentorship. By the end you will have structured frameworks for complex pediatric vision cases.
