Applied Narrative Therapy: Identity, Relationships, and Long-Term Story Work

Applied narrative therapy reshapes the long stories that define a life. This applied course teaches you to bring narrative work to identity, relationships, and the long arc of self-understanding. By the end of this course you will be able to engage in long-term identity work using narrative concepts, work with relationship narratives, deconstruct cultural narratives that limit possibility, and sustain narrative practice across years. What you will learn: - Approaches to long-term identity work using re-authoring practices - Approaches to working with relationship narratives including family stories - Approaches to deconstructing cultural narratives around success, body, family, or career - Approaches to community witness across years of practice - Approaches to handling stories that resist re-authoring - Approaches to integrating narrative work with other practices - Approaches to sustaining story work across decades The course is structured around six applied modules. Each produces a written artifact: an identity narrative plan, a relationship narrative reflection, a cultural deconstruction practice, a community witness plan, a resistant-stories approach, and a long-term integration plan. This course is written for adults with some narrative therapy familiarity who want to use it across long arcs of life. It is educational and does not replace clinical narrative therapy. By the end you will have moved from narrative concepts to a sustained practice that shapes the stories you live with.
