Applied Sensory Family Life Across the Long Arc

Applied sensory family life unfolds across years and includes evolving developmental needs, school transitions, and the long-term work of supporting regulation. This applied course teaches integrated reasoning through case-based modules. By the end of this course you will be able to adapt sensory supports as your child grows, navigate school transitions, support social and community participation, and sustain the practice across years. What you will learn: - Approaches to sensory supports across early childhood, school-age, and adolescent years - Approaches to school transitions including the move into middle and high school - Approaches to social and community participation including sports, camps, and family gatherings - Approaches to handling co-occurring conditions including ADHD or autism spectrum considerations - Approaches to supporting independent self-regulation as your child grows - Approaches to advocating across school, healthcare, and community systems - Approaches to sustaining your own well-being and partnership through the long arc The course is structured around six applied modules. Each produces a written artifact: a developmental supports plan, a school transitions framework, a social and community plan, a co-occurring conditions reflection, a self-regulation plan, and an advocacy and well-being reflection. This course is written for families thinking across the long arc. By the end you will have moved from year-by-year reactivity to a sustained, evolving approach.
