Applied Teen Sexual Health Support: Across Relationships, Identity, and Decisions

Applied teen sexual health support extends across years of relationships, identity exploration, and the decisions teens face. This applied course teaches integrated reasoning through case-based modules. By the end of this course you will be able to support teens through early relationships, navigate conversations about identity and orientation, respond to decisions and situations that arise, and sustain support across the long arc. What you will learn: - Approaches to supporting teens through early romantic relationships - Approaches to affirming conversations about identity and orientation - Approaches to discussions about decisions including timing and partners - Approaches to handling difficult situations including assault or coercion - Approaches to coordinating with pediatric care and mental health support - Approaches to specific topics including pornography, sexting, and online interactions - Approaches to sustaining conversation into young adulthood The course is structured around six applied modules. Each produces a written artifact: an early relationships support plan, an identity affirming framework, a decisions conversation plan, a difficult situations response, a professional support plan, and a long-arc reflection. This course is written for parents thinking across the long arc. The course is informational and does not substitute for pediatric medical or mental health care. By the end you will have moved from reactive responses to sustained, affirming support.
