This course really demystified shading for me — the value exercises at the start seemed tedious at first but they turned out to be the foundation for everything that came after. Watching the portrait demonstrations helped me understand where light actually falls on a face instead of just guessing. My only gripe is that the jump in difficulty between the mid lessons and the final portrait project felt a bit steep, so I had to rewatch a couple sections. Still, I finished with a portrait sketch I'm genuinely proud of, which is more than I can say for any tutorial I tried before. Worth the time if you're willing to practice between lessons.

연필 스케치는 늘 어렵게만 느껴졌는데 이 강의를 듣고 나서 명암 표현이 조금씩 이해되기 시작했어요. 기초 선긋기부터 시작해서 점점 인물화로 넘어가는 구성이라 부담 없이 따라갈 수 있었습니다. 특히 얼굴의 명암 대비를 표현하는 부분에서 설명이 정말 자세해서 여러 번 돌려봤어요. 처음 그린 제 자화상을 보고 스스로도 놀랐습니다. 그림에 자신감이 전혀 없던 저도 이제는 매일 스케치북을 펼치게 됐어요.
I've dabbled in drawing for years but never really understood value until I took this course. The way it breaks down shading into simple gradients before jumping into full portraits made everything click for me. By the third project I could actually see form and depth in my sketches instead of flat outlines. The pacing felt right, never rushed, and each lesson builds naturally on the last one. My portraits still need work but the improvement from my first sketch to my latest one is honestly kind of shocking.
Les bases sur les valeurs et le rendu des ombres sont très bien expliquées. J'aurais aimé un peu plus de temps sur les proportions du visage avant de passer aux portraits complets. Dans l'ensemble ça reste une excellente introduction au dessin réaliste.
Раньше мои рисунки выходили плоскими, а после уроков по тону и текстуре портреты стали выглядеть гораздо живее. Особенно помогла часть про растушёвку и передачу объёма. Хотелось бы больше разборов глаз и волос, но в целом мой прогресс заметен невооружённым глазом.
