Practical and easy to actually use.
We started the allowance-with-three-jars idea from the saving section and it's genuinely changed how my 10-year-old thinks. He now pauses before spending and actually asks himself if he really wants the thing. Watching him choose to save for a bigger toy instead of blowing it on sweets was a proud moment.
What I liked is the focus on building habits early rather than just explaining concepts. The delayed gratification exercises are sneaky-clever and my son didn't feel lectured at. He's started saving part of his birthday money on his own.
I was worried this would be too dry or preachy for my two, aged 9 and 12, but the way it breaks money down into simple ideas actually kept them interested. The needs versus wants stuff finally clicked for my younger one, and my older daughter started tracking her spending in a little notebook without me nagging. What I liked most is that it's aimed at me as the parent, giving me the words and small everyday routines to teach this stuff rather than a lecture the kids sit through. A couple of weeks in and the constant can-I-have arguments at the shop have dropped noticeably. It's the kind of thing I wish someone had taught me at that age.

For the youngest it was all about saving jars and spotting the difference between a need and a want, while my eldest got into the budgeting and even a bit on how debt works. It gave us a proper family language around money, so now the older ones sometimes explain things to the little one at the dinner table. The routines are small and doable, not some rigid system you have to overhaul your life for. Honestly one of the more useful parenting things I've done this year.
